FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
The Drumming Guys arranged, composed and performed the
live drumming soundtrack for the 2010 Official FIFA
World Cup theme song, and video.
The drum & percussion arrangement included 5 traditional
African bass drums; 3 hand made congas; 1 solo Djembe.
The performance was filmed live, and the soundtrack
used in the Official World Cup theme song and video, was taken
directly from the live performance for video, not recorded
in studio as is usually done.
We were at Lesedi Cultural Village (Hartebeespoort) until
the early hours of the morning, doing take after take - until
it was completed.
Featuring, and with many thanks to - Cuban Master Drummer
Minel Melendez.
The official theme song and video was broadcast on numerous
television, radio and internet (social media & digital)
channels leading up to and during the FIFA 2010 World Cup
South Africa.
