centuries ago in the Malinka Empire which ruled vast regions of West
Africa (Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Ghana etc) - introducing
the drum to numerous cultures who made it their own. More recently, the Djembe has spread around the globe to become one of the most popular hand drums in the world (along with Bongos), known as a drum that is versatile, powerful and has unique acoustic properties - a bass note unrivalled by other hand drums, as well as the tone & slap sounds.
